Gloria Baker Feinstein
acrylic paintings

Years ago, I learned from someone much wiser than me that when big things are falling apart around you, find things you can put together. When things are deconstructing, construct.

And so, for the past several years, as politics, Eddie's health and the general goodness of humanity disintegrated around me, I have gone to my studio to paint, to make, to reclaim a sense of control.

I've been revisiting this work in preparation for my Open Studio. Taking a step back from it and selecting my favorites has been powerful and healing in and of itself. Most of these paintings are no longer in existence, because I gave them away, painted over them or sold them. I've been making prints, though, and they're now available in that format.

I hope you find your own ways to make, create, stand your ground and get out the anger, sadness and frustration in meaningful ways.

Every act of creation begins with destruction. - Pablo Picasso
